Talking to my Dad

Sometimes you just gotta call your daddy....

The video below cracks me up. Wyatt is having a pretend conversation with his daddy. But he doesn't want me to film him, so he keeps directing me to "baby girl". So cute.

Birthday season has begun...

We have gone all year in Wyatt's class without a birthday of any of his friends. All of their birthdays are from the end of May to the beginning of july. That's alot of birthday parties to attend. Thank goodness not everyone is having a party. However, we are ALL about birthday parties. Especially when they wear my child out and he takes a 3 1/2 hour nap when we get home (just sayin :) ).
This party was for Wyatt's "lifelong" (what? it's the truth) friend Sam. It was held on the playground at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. You can reserve an awesome, very large covered pavillion for free on Sundays. At this particular party the family asked for donations to the hospital instead of birthday gifts. How awesome is that! We totally loved the playground. It is completely shaded and there is a large playground and smaller toddler playground. Highly recommend this for a party or just to go play. It's open to the public. Here are some of the pics from our first birthday party of the "season"....

Wyatt and his buddy Sam. They were having a BLAST!! They thought it was the coolest thing to see each other somewhere other than school!

There was alot of running..........

Alot of picture taking aka posing by Whitney.

Snuggling with Daddy. Love me some Whitney snuggles :)

Striking a pose again....

Attempt at getting a picture of both kids sitting down in an adorable kid size bench amongst gorgeous landscaping. RRRRiiiiggggghhhhhtttt. Well, at least my girl was performing.

Lots, and lots and lots of exploring and playing.

What's a party without cake! Evidently this cake was so good Wyatt had to close his eyes to eat it.

Stay tuned for more birthday party adventures....

Sprinkler Fun

Sometimes you just gotta run through the sprinklers for fun.

Before the sprinkler....

After the sprinkler

Whitney enjoyed watching him...

Love this video

What's that smell????

So here's a funny story......Couple weekends ago we had some friends over for the mavs game. They brought their 2 year old Lola. Wyatt and Lola had a blast. Even let Wyatt stay up later than normal so he could have more play time (okay maybe we were hoping she would wear him out enough he would sleep in the next morning). So we put him to bed around 9 and all is good. Usually (knock on wood) my kids are GREAT at putting themselves to sleep. Give them their blanket, paci (yes Wyatt still has one, hopefully the paci ferry will visit us this month), and turn their music on and their out. H-O-W-E-V-E-R, on this particular night about an hour after he went to "sleep" I hear a somewhat distressed call of "Momma". So I make my way into his room, which is pretty dark, and notice a very distinguished smell. Hmmmm, I thought, why do I smell medicine? I very slowly walk to turn on the light and think this is not going to be good.....I turn to look at Wyatt and bust out laughing. This is what I saw.......

Needless to say, I did what any mother would do.....I ran as fast as I could to get my.....CAMERA. This had to go down on film. While getting my camera I was laughing so hard that our friends had to come see what it was all about. Oh, he was covered in DESITIN. you heard it desitin as in diaper cream, as in glue cream as in GOOD LUCK getting it off cream! I think it took a total of 4 days getting it off. We laughed so hard about this for days. In a million years I would have never guessed he would have done something like this. We asked him why he did this and he said cuz, I wanted to. Silly boy!!! Love him to pieces!!!

P.S. I have no idea why his Buzz lightyear backpack is in his bed with him.

Blastball

Blastball season is coming to an end....Yes the end. It only lasted 4 weeks (Yay for me!). It has been an awesome experience for our entire family. A little taxing when they had 2 or 3 games in one week but we had a couple rain days so that helped. Overall, I love having a little boy who loves playing sports. He played last week without the help of Daddy on the field. That was huge! Made David a little sad but he did great! David helped tonight because they were short handed so Wyatt was happy. He's gotten the concept down of hitting the ball and running to first base and not running after the ball once he hit it........ Now, about being in the outfield waiting for the ball. Not so much. He would rather play with the dirt. Hey, but isn't that what their supposed to do at this age. At least he's ON the field. We are very proud of him and look forward to many more games! Sneeky Kleets team rocks!

When the Sneeky Kleets played the Purple Eaters, aka Ms. Amber's class played Ms. Amy's class, there was a big fan club from the boys school watching. Thanks guys!It made their day to see you cheering them on!!! Only 2 games left and hopefully they'll quit asking everyday for you to come watch them play ;)

Getting a quick batting tip from Coach PePaw.

Look at that focus on that boy's face. Love it!

Running to first base after he hit it out of the park (ok so maybe he really just hit it between 2nd and 3rd base ;). Does he look so proud of himself or what!!!!!

That's my boy!

Love, love, love this picture. Got his game hat on backwards and ready for the ball. Would have been great if he would have actually run after the ball. Oh well, I'll settle for a great picture!

Uh Oh, getting a little talking to about playing in the dirt.

Another great hit!

Great job Wyatt. We are so proud of you!!!

2 of his biggest fans. PawPaw and Nana Dedwylder.

Mother's Day at School with Wyatt

Mother's Day this year was so special because I got to attend my 1st Mother's Day Tea with Wyatt. I can recall SEVERAL years ago wondering if I would EVER get the chance to celebrate being a mother. What an incredible BLESSING and JOY it is to now celebrate Mother's Day with not 1 but 2 beautiful children! God truly granted my heart's desire with 2 of the most amazing children. Ohhhhh how I love them so!!!!

Celebrating Mother's Day at The Sloan School

Wyatt handing me the adorable gifts he made me. He was so proud.

Blake was taking pictures using his mom's iphone. I had never shown Wyatt how to take pictures on my iphone. All it took was another 2 year old showing him how and he went photography crazy. Taking pictures of his buddy Blake. So cute!

.....Still taking pictures.

Taking pictures of Jacob and having so much fun!

I would have posted a picture Wyatt took but we need to fine tune his photography subjects first.
