Fun Weekend
This weekend was very busy and alot of fun. Saturday some of my friends and their kiddos came over to meet Whitney. Whitney pretty much slept thru the whole visit but the kids got to play and had so much fun. After they left David's dad came over and we went out to dinner. Whitney again slept thru that as well. I remember we didn't go out to eat at a restraunt with Wyatt until he was 4 months old. We took Whitney when she was 4 weeks old and then again last night. She does great! When we got home her pawpaw fed her and she fell right back asleep. Good job pawpaw.
Sunday I got to spend a few hours with my mom shopping. I needed a mental break from my household duties, husband, and children. Even though it was my "mental" break I ended up primarily shopping for them. Why does that always happen. I did manage to buy 1 outfit for me. When I got home David, Wyatt and Pawpaw went to Cabellas and dinner. I hear Wyatt had a blast. So did I while he was gone (I slept for 2 hours!). The weekend is wrapping up the kiddos are in bed and the Ranger game is almost over (go Rangers!), now its time for me to go to bed. This will be my last week off before I go back to work (ugh!). Have a great week everyone!

Party at school for Wyatt
So maybe it's a month late but a party is a party right? Since we didn't have a birthday party with Wyatts friends this year I decided to just do cupcakes at school. And well, we just got around to doing it today. At least I brought homemade cupcakes. David got to be the photographer because Ms. Whitney Lee decided that she wanted to wake up and be a part of this party. He did a great job taking the pictures. Thanks honey!
These are my favorite pictures he took of Wyatt enjoying his cupcake.

Look at Whitney. She is totally holding her right hand up saying "Hi" to her Daddy. Look at those cheeks. I just want to kiss them to pieces.

Ms. Jessica getting to meet her newest student . And Whitney is sucking her thumb. I think she's going to be a thumb or finger sucker. She takes the paci well but she often sticks her thumb or fingers in her mouth. I hope she takes the paci over the fingers. That's much easier to take away in the future.

How Wyatt got a Motorcycle
So Wyatt and I took a little trip to Walgreens this evening. Unfortunately, it was to pick up a prescription for me. Now I'm sick with a very bad sinus infection. But I said the magic words to my doctor "I have a newborn at home" and he gave me a shot and a prescription for antibiotics. I prefer getting the shot because within a couple hours I'm already feeling better.
Anyway, back to the motorcycle. So I let Wyatt walk in the store holding my hand. We go get my prescription and after a long wait (and Wyatt was very patient during this wait) we leave going down the toy aisle. He never gets to pick out any toys so I thought we'll walk down the aisle and see what happens. Well, he's jumping up and down looking at everything and within 20 seconds zoned in on a motorcyle or as he says a "kikle". He looked up at me with his BIG brown eyes and said
"Look Momma, Kikle."
Me -That's a cool motorcyle Wyatt
Wyatt-Momma, I want Kikle.
Me-Looking at him in amazement with a smirk on my face because he has NEVER asked for anything when we go to the store.
Wyatt -"Peeze Momma"
Me - You want the motorcyle
Wyatt - Jumping up and down "Yea!"
Me -Very quickly said "Ok".
I mean really how do you turn down a 2 year old with manners and smile like that....
I love this boy as Buzz "ightyear" would say to Infinity and beyond!!!

He loved his "kikle" so much he took it to bed with him.

We are now Croup Free!
The doctor said that Croup usually lasts 3 to 5 days and she was right. Wyatt got it Thursday night and wasn't able to go back to school until today (Wed). Thankgoodness he only ran a low grade fever but his cough and runny nose were HORRIBLE. He/We had many sleepless nights. So glad he's feeling better and back to school. As far as Whitney she seems to be just fine and hopefully escaped the Croup. We did a good job keeping them apart but it was really hard. Especially if she crys while we're all in the living room because Wyatt wants to run to her and give her the paci. Such a sweet brother.
Here's Whitney enjoying 5 minutes of tummy time. I was hoping for 20 minutes. Oh well.
This was on Sunday for pictures. We put Whitney in the wagon and had Wyatt holding the handle....

..then I got the idea to have him pull her "slowly". About gave David a heart attack but Wyatt did great. These are pics my mom took can't wait to see the ones David Leaser took.

As far as Whitney's Colic still not sure if she really has it or not but on this particular evening we had a really hard time getting her to sleep. Then I walked around with her in the Baby Bjorn and she was asleep in 20 minutes and stayed asleep for 3 hours. Great idea except for when its 3:00 in the morning (like this morning-took her/us 2 very LONG hours to get her back to sleep!).

Croup & Colic. Yuck!
That's right, croup and colic have knocked on our door and let themselves in. Wyatt has croup and Whitney has colic. Wyatt started with a barking cough last night so I immediately took him to the dr today for fear of passing whatever it was to Whitney. As long as we keep Wyatt away from Whitney we should be ok. This task will be hard because he loves her sooo much. His favorite thing to do with her is when she's crying to give her her paci. Surprisingly enough and so incredibly sweet she takes it much better from him than she does us.
Our incredibly sweet, adorable, beautiful baby girl has C-O-L-I-C. I know those of you that have experienced a child with colic have already said a prayer for us and hopefully sending over a bottle of wine (J/K). Dr says she has it but I'm not entirely convinced because she's not crying for 3 hours straight. BUT she is incredibly fussy and refuses to go to sleep until she's been up for 4 hours. This usually happens around 8 to 10 pm and lasts until around 12 or 2. Good news is when this happens she'll usually sleep for 6 to 7 hours afterwards. Dr also said should go away by 3 months of age. Yeah! Only 2 more months to deal with it! Ugh! I think she just has a minor case and hopefully it won't get worse before it gets better.
On a side note - Overall both children are doing amazing. Like I said earlier Wyatt absolutely adores his "itney". He loves loving on her and taking care of her if she's crying (by shoving paci in her mouth). Whitney is now 4 1/2 weeks old and as cute as can be. It's been easier with the 2nd child but interesting (meaning the girl parts - not to get graphic but that's a whole new ball game - so many cracks and crevices to clean).
David Leaser (Leaserphotography.com) is coming over on Sunday to do her newborn pictures and Wyatt's 2 year old pictures. He always does an amazing job. I'm already anxious to see the pictures and we haven't even taken them yet!
This pics have nothing to do with what I wrote about but wanted to share them anyway...

July 4th
Since the arrival of Ms. Whitney Lee our July 4th was fairly quiet. All my family came over on July 4th for a cookout and fireworks. My sister Lindsay and her boyfriend were in town. Wyatt loves his Aunt "Dindsay". We hung around the house all weekend, loving our 4 day weekend as a family of 4.
Wyatt is his July 4th outfit.
