A very interesting, unexpected, thrilling week!

Our week as sure been an interesting one. We started off with Wyatt recovering from the flu. He was back at school on Tuesday and is doing so much better. However, I noticed this morning that he has some "interesting" looking drainage from one of his ears which means he has an ear infection. So we'll be going back to the doctor in the morning. This will be his first ear infection since getting tubes.

On Thursday, I had taken the day off to get the house clean without anyone bothering me. I woke up that morning feeling horrible. I went to the doctor and turns out I have tonsillitis. Very random. Can't even remember the last time I had it. The biggest surprise however is that we found out on Thursday that we are pregnant! Can you believe it. Totally unexpected, and an amazing surprise. I was told that I would never be able to get pregnant without having a procedure. Little did the doctor know that God had a plan for us to be able to experience this miracle unexpectedly and on our own! We are still in a bit of shock but overall absolutely thrilled! We haven't been to our first dr appt yet but according to the internet the due date is 2 days before Wyatt's 2nd bithday! Won't that be fun! We had so much fun telling everyone. We had a family dinner with David's family that night and Wyatt wore a t-shirt that said "I'm the big brother!". He also wore the shirt to school on Friday and that's how we told everyone. It was so exciting seeing everyone's reactions! Can't believe we're going to have 2 children 2 years apart!

Flu, Flu Go Away!

My poor baby Wyatt has the FLU! It all started on Thursday a.m. Woke up with a slight fever and as the day went on his fever got higher and higher. Called the dr and she said make an appointment for the morning. Something told me we weren't going to make it until the morning. At 4:30 pm he had a 101.6 temp so we gave him Tylenol rechecked his temp 45 minutes later and it was a 102.8! Immediately called the dr and she said go to the ER. So we went.... and after a lot of poking, prodding, temp checks, weight check, chest x-rays and flu nose swab test we found out he had the fLu! (Those of you wondering yes he did get the flu shot and the test was negative for Type A a.k.a The Swine Flu). So they gave him a prescription for Tamiflu and a cough medicine.
We are now on day 4 of the fLu and he is still MiSeRaBlE! Poor baby is still running a fever, has now lost his voice from all the coughing and crying. The only thing he wants to do is get in the car and drive around. He grabs my keys and drags my purse to the door and says in his poor groggy/scratchy pitiful voice"bye, bye". We have had to fill up the car 3 times in the last 4 days. But that's ok because this is just about the only place he'll sleep. He has spent the last several nights in bed with us for several reasons. 1)I'm scared if he'll have a reaction because he's taking 2 new medicines on top of his tylenol and motrin every 3 hours and 2) he wakes up every hour on the hour in the middle of the night. Sometimes I just want to cry because he can't use his words to tell me what's wrong. I wish I had the flu instead of him. How miserable and helpless he must feel. He's taking a nap in his bed right now which is a sign (fingers crossed) he's feeling somewhat better. I'm sure he'll be up in time for the cowboy game so "hey boys can you do us a favor and play an amazing game and win today! I don't think I can take a grumpy/sick baby and a grumpy husband all in one day!"
P.S. The adorable blog/header picture is thanks to Wyatt's amazing teachers Ms. Jessica and Ms. Alyssa. His first school art project! Momma is so proud!

Some Catching Up To Do...

My sister Lindsay came in town for her 21st birthday! To celebrate we had some mexican food and awesome margaritas!
Wyatt loves his Aunt Lindsay!

Wyatt's latest thing is he loves to sweep and mop! I think he needs to spend some more time with his Daddy!

He's very serious about this job!

Having a blast at Jori and Jaxon's Birthday Party!

A very pooped out Wyatt after the party.

Wyatt was dedicated last weekend at church. What an amazing family moment!

Family pic with Pastor Paul.

We made it home from the dedication just in time for the 1st Cowboys game! Go Cowboys!

First day of School!

I love the first day of school and I take it pretty seriously. I dressed Wyatt up in "uniform". Ok maybe not the right uniform but I did dress him up. The first day really wasn't any different for Wyatt since he didn't move up classes but I still love taking the first day pictures and can't wait to continue the tradition.

Looking snazzy!

With his big boy backpack. Yes even babies need backpacks!

Here's the baby room greater Ms. Sydney Rae! Every morning when she sees us she gets so excited and starts waving Hi and saying iatt, iatt, iatt (baby for Wyatt). Then when I put Wyatt down she runs over to him and waves hi in his face until he recognizes her. So cute!

Last day of summer

Today is the last day of summer. First day of school is tomorrow and I can just imagine how many kiddos are going to bed early tonight and waking up in the morning with the first day jitters. This upcoming week will be a very busy week so we had a laid back weekend. Did a lot of nothin and even more nothin. We did attempt to take Wyatt to the park but everything was too hot to touch. On our way home this afternoon we spotted another playground that was in the shade so we stopped to let him play. It lasted for 5 minutes because it was just too hot outside. We are definetly ready for the cooler weather but not the cold weather. I'm a little apprehensive about the winter time because Wyatt absolutely loves to be OUTSIDE (all the time). I may have to get very creative with indoor play this winter. While I was making dinner tonight David and Wyatt were outside (again) fixing the water sprinkler which then turned into some water fun. Here are some pics from some of Wyatt's outdoor adventures this summer.

David got his toybox out from when he was younger and Wyatt found the trucks! He loves to play with trucks.

Wyatt playing with his new truck next to Daddy's big truck.

Having fun in the backyard. Does he have great form or what!

Most of the pictures I have of him lately are running ! Thanks for the jersey Misty. I think he wears it better than Romo!

Running again!

Wyatt loves going down the slide!

Wyatt says forget the park! This is what I'm talking about!

"Daddy please don't fix the sprinkler. I like it broken." I love this picture and wish it didn't look weird. I took it from inside and the silly flash went off. Argh!

Does he look like he's having fun or what!

Can somebody turn this thing off!

Little boy of mine, you sure do melt my heart with those big brown eyes!

This picture cracks me up. Ms. Jessica took this pic at school. He just propped himself up and made himself at home. Too funny! He does this in his wagon too when we go for walks.

Galveston

Last weekend I went to Galveston with 2 of my girlfriends. It was a weekend without cleaning, grocery shopping, cooking, washing clothes. No husbands and no babies! Between the 3 of us we have a 13 month old, 18 month old and 2 year old. We definetly deserved this mini vacation away from reality. We went to Schlitterbahn on Friday, we started out riding a pretty scary ride and after that just stuck to the tube rides and the lazy river. We went to dinner at the Aquarium in Kemah that night and walked/shopped along the Boardwalk. Saturday after breakfast we did a little souvenir shopping and layed out by the pool. Saturday night we ate at Guidos. Famous restaraunt, definetly eat there if you go to Galveston. Make sure you make reservations, if Jaime hadn't, the wait would have been an hour and a half (thanks Jamie!). Sunday on the way home we stopped at the outlet mall in Cypress. Love those outlet malls. I had so much fun hanging out with these girls. Thanks Mandy and Jaime, can't wait to do it again!

Dinner at the Aquarium. Really neat restaraunt with great food!

Best shot I could get of dolphins swimming right by the shore.

Every where you look there's still evidence of Hurrice Ike. The only thing left of my favorite souvenir shop were the piers it used to stand on. But they ARE rebuilding!

Dinner at the Famous Guidos.

More Summer Fun...

We went to the water park with Amy, Lindsey, and Miles. Wyatt had a blast and momma got some sun. We had so much fun, we went 2 days in a row! Thanks for the pictures Amy!

Couple days later we went over to our friends house to meet their new daughter "Lola Roxanne". And she is adorable! We got to see how Wyatt would do around a baby and he was amazing. As soon as we got there Lola was awake so I wanted to take pictures of Wyatt and Lola togther. Wyatt took my breath away. As soon as we sat him next to her he grabbed her hand and hugged and kissed her. I think we've got a ladies man on our hands....

Tonight when we got back from dinner we let Wyatt play outside and he put on a show! We turned the water on and he went to town. He did everything from dancing, to trying to drink the water, to chasing the water sprinkler. We haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Thanks Wyatt!

Let Freedom Ring...

We had a great July 4th weekend. It got off to a rough start with Wyatt being sick but he quickly recovered just in time to go to the lake. My brother and sister came with us. Which I loved because I got some great QT time in with them. My sister is at Texas Tech (Guns up, down, whatever (Gig-Em!)and is very busy with working and going to school year round. So glad she got to come and stay for a week! I loved it to because she was a built in babysitter! Thanks Lindsay - come back soon! We were also excited that my brother John got to come with us. He is about to make a major life change of going into the army, so I love spending as much time with him as possible. Way to go John, you have really turned things around and we are very proud of you! Can't wait to see what the future holds for you! We also got to see Ms. Lauren from the Sloan School at the lake. Her parents also have a house in Bonham. What a small world. We can't wait to spend more time with her and her family at the lake!

Here are pics from our great weekend...
Wyatt loves being at the lake!

My sister caught a turtle, which is evidently hard to do. Must be a red raider thing!

What lake trip would be complete without Wyatt digging in the ice chests. He loves to eat the ice.

Eatin some ice. Love this picture. He looks like such a little boy.

My brother tubing! So fun!

I know this is random. We bought these foam swords at Walmart and had a blast! It's quite the workout!

Daddy and Wyatt watching the silly sword show. Mommy tickling Wyatt with the sword.

My brother John the comedian! Always making us laugh!

Wyatt's first time in the lake. He's not really digging the life jacket.

"Uh Mom...Can you do something about this?" Thanks Lindsay for getting in the water with Wyatt. I'll tube and kneeboard but, just stand there in the lake...no thanks!

He likes it, he likes it!

Our fireworks show...

The neighbors fireworks. No kidding they were right down the street.

They put on a better show than the City of Bonham!

Wyatt passed out in the truck on the way home.

What a great July 4th weekend! Love the summertime!
