Cold, Cold, go away...

Was it really just last Saturday that we were at the park having fun and today it is ridiculously freezing cold. We are definitely ready for summertime in the Dedwylder house. Ready for trips to the lake, the zoo, and endless trips to the park. Here are pictures from last weekend.

They grow up so fast!

It seems like in a matter of days Wyatt was holding his bottle, pulling up on everything, getting his first school boo-boo, and saying all kinds of new sounds. I'm afraid the next time I blink he's going to be in Kindergarten! However, he will need some teeth before Kindergarten and he still doesn't have any yet. He still has that precious gummy smile and I love it!!! Hope the teeth take their time and I can hold onto my "baby" that much longer! This song says it all.

I don't know what it is with the socks but this is usually where they end up.

Our precious, precious son! We love you soooo much!

So Maybe I'm not the Country Girl I thought I was.

It was such a beautiful day today and while Wyatt was napping I washed my car and then wanted to plant my hydrangeas (my favorite flower). When I went to pick up the bag of soil (that I just bought yesterday and set on the ground last night) this is what I saw.....Keep in mind David was not home! He was showing a house all the way in Keller.

I jumped back and freaked out.
Just for the record...I DO NOT DO SNAKES!!!!!! I am insanely afraid of them. I don't care if it's a grass snake or a bad snake. I don't like them. For something to be able to move so fast without legs/feet there is something very wrong with that animal. So I immediately called David who did NOT answer his phone. Then I grabbed my camera and started taking pictures. Not sure why other than blogging about it. So I finally got ahold of David and he said don't touch it and I'll be there in 15 minutes. "Dont't touch it"...Did he know who he was talking to. I didn't take my eyes off that thing. It stayed there for quite awhile and then it started to MOVE!!! And this is where it was moving too...

INSIDE MY HOUSE!!!! WHAT? Someone has got to do something fast. At this point I really started freaking out. After David's very loooonnnngggg investigation of what type of snake it was because he is every bit the country boy he then decided to get "rid" of the snake. (Swipe of the head and a big sigh of relief from me).

Now, I'm sure your laughing by now because in the second picture you really see how small the snake is. I DON'T CARE. I DON'T DO SNAKES!!!!! So....anyone want to buy a house in Mansfield. I think I'm a city girl by nature and a country girl when...well, on occasion.

My day did end on a happy note. We went out to eat with David's parents tonight and it was Wyatt's first time to sit in a highchair in a restaraunt. It happend to be exactly his naptime and I thought we were going to have to leave with a screaming baby. But he did amazing! As we were leaving I left with a feeling of amazement. I was overwhelmed with how my heart swelled with love for my husband and child. Can my life be any greater......Yes, get rid of all the snakes. J/K.

8 is sooooo great!

Wyatt turned 8 months old last Wednesday! We've had so much fun watching him grow. Here is why we think 8 is soooo great!:
1) He is officially crawling!!! I thought he was going to army crawl forever, but he finallly figured out how to use those things called knees. Pictures to follow later.
2) He gets sooo excited as soon as he sees his mommy or daddy. He makes jumping motions with his body and starts clapping his hands.
3) He claps at just about everything.
4) He loooovvveeeesss music. I think this boy was born to rock!
5) He loves to go outside. He starts jumping around in my arms as soon as he sees we're headed for the door.
6) He smiles and waves and claps when he's saying "Hi".
7) He gets so excited as soon as we walk in the door at The Sloan School. He usually sleeps on the way to school and doesn't wake up until I unbuckle him. Then 2 seconds later we're walking in the door and he starts jumping in my arms and smiling at everyone. Even parents he's never met before as we're walking down the hall.
8) He now has 2 smiles. A normal smile and a wrinkle nose smile. Pictures to follow.
I'm kind of slacking on pictures but we've been real busy. Wyatt is sick again and he is so miserable. His poor nose looks like Rudolph. The doctor said the first 2 years would be rough and boy was she right. Come on 2!

How The West Was Won

Here a Puff, There a Puff, Everywhere a Puff Puff

Wyatt is now eating puffs! Thanks to the encouragement from Ms. Jessica and Ms. Alyssa. For some reason I was scared to death to feed Wyatt big boy food. But not anymore! Wyatt loves the puffs. Well, maybe not truly love but he's getting there. He's still working on getting them in his mouth. But once he does, he enjoys them. The part I don't enjoy is finding the puffs on the side of his leg (an hour later) or on the floor after you have stepped on them into a million pieces. Or better yet finding them in his bed. Really? How did they get there? Here are some pics of him with his "Puffs".

I went to Canton and this is all I got...

The title says it all. This was one of my cheapest visits to Canton, but definitely worth it. The weather was beautiful, I had an awesome shopping companion (Thanks Misty), and everything was practically on sale! January is definitely the time to go.

Another tabletop floral arrangement, picture frame, soup and chili mixes, jewelry, 2 pair of shoes for Wyatt and a Johnny Cash Onesie.

I do have a bone to pick with Canton - Where is all the baby BOY stuff?!? It makes me sooooo frustrated to see all the adorable girly girl stuff and your lucky if you see anything for boys. Somebody needs to do something about this. Didn't they get the Memo: Michelle had a boy not a girl!!!

And ooohhhh how I missed that special boy of mine today. I couldn't get home fast enough to see him. When I walked in the boys were playing and this is what I saw. Wyatt was sooo excited to see me. He couldn't stop laughing and smiling. I picked him up and only kissed him a bazillion times!

Update

Wyatt stayed home from school again today. He still had a little bit of diarrhea and we thought his ears were bothering him AGAIN! So he stayed home with David. David just got back last night from a 4 day hunt so he got some great Father-Son time in today. We took Wyatt to the doctor this afternoon and he does NOT have another ear infection. This would have been his 4th ear infection in 4 months, so we are soooo relieved. The doctor thought it was a miracle. She even let us look inside his ears to see what a normal ear looks like. Which is good because I bought the cheap ear nose and throat kit from Walgreens. So next time we think he has an ear infection we can look ourselves and maybe save a $30 copay and a trip to an office full of germs!!! Even though he doesn't have an ear infection he's still pretty cranky but she said his tummy is probably still hurting him. Hopefully that goes away soon!
One of Wyatt's favorite things to do at the doctors office is play with the paper on the bed. I grabbed the camera and snagged a few pics. Sooo cute!

Looong Weekend

Well, our long weekend started on Thursday morning when Wyatt started throwing up after his first bottle. I stayed home with him because David was leaving for a 4 day hunt. I thought it must be a 24 hour bug I'll be back at work tomorrow. WRONG!!! He woke up Friday morning with major diarrhea and a fever. Poor Baby. Its Saturday now and he is fever free but still has the diarrhea. He probably still has it because he refuses and I mean refuses to drink anything but his bottle with formula. I've tried every trick. It's actually been pretty comical to try and trick him. I put a bottle on the floor next to him with flat sprite in it. He got real excited and got the bottle, put it in his mouth, took a couple swallows and practically threw the bottle across the room (Well just maybe next to him but there was true force behind the throw). Then he proceeded to scream in baby language "Get me my real bottle!" So now he's drinking watered down bottles and hopefully today will be the last day with diarrhea. Yesterday afternoon he took a 3 hour nap! Yes 3 hours - I almost didn't know what to do with myself. I took the opportunity to start the 2nd book in the twilight series. Anyway, after the nap he seemed to be feeling pretty good (for a little while anyway) and had quite the "nap hair-do" going on so I seized the opportunity to take some pictures. And that's when all his true colors started showing. See below...

Love the hair. This was after a 3 hour nap!

Yeah, I'm starting to feel better bring on the sweet potatoes!

Oh wait, I think I need a diaper change.

Ok, I'm getting a little frustrated. Notice the gummy cry. Absolutely no teeth even trying to show.

I couldn't resist this picture. Isn't he pitiful.

The Bumper is Back...it only took 5 minutes.

Update: Wyatt is now on his 3rd ear infection. According to the doctor odds are pretty good he will be getting tubes in the next couple of months. Oh boy. Good news is despite his ear infection he is still in good spirits!

Wyatt's bumper on his bed has been driving me crazy lately. They tell you "Oh no, you should never put a bumper in a baby's bed." But if I didn't I would have 30 pacifiers under his bed because instead of trying to find it in the middle of the night I just get a new one. A child with bruises on his body because he keeps bumping his head and getting his arms and legs stuck thru the railings. However, I also have a gigantic fear of the bumper being in the bed. I have many sleepless nights where I look over at the monitor and his face is right up against the bumper and I have to go move him. So...today I thought I would try without the bumper because I really want my precious, wonderful, amazing sleep back! Well....it lasted 5 minutes. As soon as I put Wyatt down for his nap it got really quiet real fast. I thought there's no way he went to sleep that fast. Oh, we weren't asleep we were gnawing on the bed! I couldn't resist taking pictures. Then, I moved him back to the center of his bed and 1 minute later he was screaming because he had rolled over and hit his head. Ok, that's it. Bye-Bye Sleep, hello bumper. Oh, well. If it wasn't the bumper waking me up in the middle of the night I'm sure it would be something else.

Wyatt decided to help me put the bumper on but....

got distracted by the tag.

That Little Boy of Mine

That Little Boy of Mine

Two eyes that shine so bright,
Two lips that kiss goodnite,
Two arms that hold me tight,
That little boy of mine.
No one could ever know how much your coming has meant.
To me you're everything.
You're something heaven sent.
You're all the world to me.
You climb upon my knee.
To me you'll always be
That little boy of mine.

This poem is from the book The Wonderful World of Boys by Dr. James Dobson. Thanks for the book Kim. I am so happy to be a boy mom!

I want a Wii!

I have been wanting a Wii ever since they came out (I'm the gamer of the family). David can think of other things he would like to spend that money on. Probably something for hunting....ugh that's no fun for me. Well, one of David's friends bought a Wii for his son. So we invited them over for a Wii party and asked them to bring the Wii. The first game we played was tennis. That is my sport and I am so glad they did not get pictures of me. I was swinging like I was on a real court. But it was soooo much fun. I did capture these pics of David and Chris boxing. I was laughing so hard I was crying. I'm still not sure if we're going to a get a Wii , but I'm working on it.

The 1st of many trips to Bass Pro for Wyatt

We really wanted to take Wyatt to Bass Pro the Monday before Christmas for Santa Pics. He ended up getting a really bad ear infection so we waited until the day after Christmas to go. Even though Santa wasn't there we still got to sit in his chair.

Friday, December 26, 2008

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. Especially since it was Wyatt's first. He had so much fun opening the presents and eating whatever the presents were wrapped in.
Our Christmas week was very busy. On Monday I had a feeling that something was wrong with Wyatt. Turns out he had a major ear infection. It was a miserable day. Typically when Wyatt is sick we go to the doctor and he is magically better and I look like a crazy mom -" I promise doctor he really wasn't acting like this an hour ago." This time was different. He screamed the entire time we were waiting for the doctor. He cried so much his voice was hoarse the next day. So when the doctor finally came in she got straight to business and said he has a "super bad ear infection." She asked if we had given him any Tylenol and we said yes this is on Tylenol. She left and came back with miracle pain relieving ear drops. And gave us a prescription for the ear drops and an antibiotic. My poor baby. He finally started feeling better on Christmas Day.
Now on to the next day....We had dinner at David's parents house on Tuesday night. Then my family came over the next day for our Christmas with them. Then Christmas Day we went to David's brothers. And Friday we took Wyatt to Bass Pro for the first time. And now I am ready to do absolutely nothing all weekend! We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and we wish you a very blessed new year! Here are a few pics from the last few days.
I promise we really did feed him.

Hanging with Aunt Lindsay while Mommy frantically cleans the house. Yes that is his bottle of saline he is playing with. Whatever makes them happy right?

Morning mom did Santa come?

I love my Taggie book from Nana B!

Do you see something wrong with this picture?

Hanging with Cousin Katie.

Do you see the concentration on his face? He takes after me in getting serious about his presents.

Yeah Mom I see the new bath toy but I am really liking this tissue paper.
